  1. Jackie Lam

An indispensable book that belongs on the shelf of any self-employed person. Law Is for Freelancers, Too is a solid primer that covers everything from contracts to intellectual property to basics on business formation and the differences between intellectual property to licensing and trademarks.

The artwork by Tito is eye-catching and adds a light touch to a tricky topic. Author Tristan Blaine distilling complex concepts and writing in a friendly, conversational way that makes for an informative, easy-to-understand, and enjoyable read. I look forward to reading the other books in this essential series. Highly recommended to all my freelancer colleagues.

  2. Ben Chang (verified owner)

This book is an excellent reference tool to use when getting into freelance work. It was unfortunate that this book didn’t exist when I ran into a conflict with a client, but thankfully Tristan personally helped me defuse the situation. And now you have him in the form of a book to help you with all of your freelance questions!

  3. Sophia Rowland

As a freelance designer, my process comes easy, it’s the legal stuff where things get difficult. I can’t tell you how many moments I found myself sitting at my desk thinking “Uh oh, what now?” scrambling to find a friend or mentor to ask for advice. This book really helped me know those little details that fell through the cracks in design school. After reading Law is for Freelancers Too, I feel confident in my ability to protect myself and my work.
